nice to get a response to the question, but:
no, didn't figured it out yet. Virtual driver development seems to be an
arcane path on the Palm platform.
I did use the palm (low level) debugger and could see that my DrvEntryPoint
routine is not called. The OS crashes anyway if it sees the code resource
'vdrv' from my driver. This makes me think that the project is not set up
correctly within CW R6 and the driver entry point is not found or so.
For now I don't see any solution and don't know how to proceed or who to
ask.
I still hope for a miracle and someone steps in here with some knowledge
about how to proceed.

I saw your post on 2-29 on the palm developer's forum and wanted to know if
you had any success getting sample code for a virtual driver? I did exactly
the same type of test that you did and got the same exact error!
