(Note: The problems I describe occur in the Palm 3.3/3.5 ROMs. They
do *not* occur in the Palm 2.0, 3.0, or 3.1 ROMs.)
I had been having problems under 3.5 ROMs with FrmGetActiveForm()
and FrmGetActiveFormID not returning the active form. After much
searching, I finally found one person who had experienced this problem,
so I emailed him.
Basically he told me to use another method to get a form pointer.
But I'm far from understanding what is going on. The explanation
he gave me was that FrmGetActiveForm() was returning the active form,
but that the active form may not be what I think it should be.
Unfortunately, that doesn't make sense to me.
My particular problem occurs in a list drawing function. I have
confirmed that when the popup trigger is tapped, FrmGetActiveFormID()
returned the correct value, but when the list draw function associated
with that trigger was called that FrmGetActiveFormID() returns zero.
In the same function FrmGetActiveForm() returns NULL.
That doesn't sound like the functions are returning some other form, it
sounds like they're returning an error showing no active form.
I want to learn *why* this acts as it does. At the moment, the behavior
I'm seeing simply looks like a problem in the FrmGetActiveForm() and
FrmGetActiveFormID() functions.
Anyone out there fully understand this?
