They are very different!
Get the Palm/Minstrel if you want to develop applications that use native TCP.
Get the VII if you want to develop pqa's and/or for palm.net.
Note that you can't develop raw TCP apps (ie, telnet, ftp, etc) and run
them over the Palm VII built-in wireless.
Supposedly the latest OmniSky (ie, Palm V minstrel) can also run Palm VII
stuff if you re-flash your Palm.
As to market share, I'd love to know myself!
