The function returns the time in seconds since it was 1/1/1904. 
This can be useful when you want to know how long a operations takes or
when you want to start a operation at a specific moment. You only have
to deal with calculating the seconds.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. I am not a programmer and

just bought a plam pilot. Is this a shortcut? I am wondering what it
means to get seconds back to 1904???
