Well, thanks for the answer.
The problem is that the project is a dictionary, and it will contain not
only words, but phrases also. That is why I can't trunc strings.
But, maybe, I'll use a text field and copy the string there when the user
taps on it in the list.

truncation? :) it would be pretty stupid to word wrap in the list :P
either truncate (as it does now), or make your items smaller :P if two
list items are not different within the FIRST 30 chars, then you are
doing something wrong :P
ie:
North Marketplace Drive 1
North Marketplace Drive 2
would be better represented as:
1 North Marketplace Drive
2 North Marketplace Drive
see what i mean? :> change the list contents.. make sure the user can
figure out what each item means within the first 30 chars, and you
have a winner :) the less required to figure it out, the better.
