If you're not using the category or private attributes, you can re-purpose a
bit for "is in result set". Then you can sort the entire database with a
compare function that puts hits before misses and sorts the hits as desired
for display. If you're already using the category and private attributes,
perhaps you could add a byte to your records or squeeze the "is in result
set" bit in somewhere. Just some ideas...
