Well, I had this problem and I almost solved it by simply attaching an
IR-transmitter to the serial port on my workstation (thus providing POSE
with ir). Managed to read from the port but it refused to transmit
anything.
Anyway, I got tired of the whole thing and ordered a serial cable and a
cell-phone with a serial port instead. Never had any problems debugging
the serial stuff since then! ;)
PS. I use POSE together with CW6.
