No.  Mac files are composed of two forks: a data fork and a resource fork.  Most
native resource editing facilities on the Mac manipulate the data in the
resource fork.  Your procedure would result in the data being copied to the data
fork.  Thus, tools like Constructor wouldn't be able to find it to edit it.
