The performance problems were mentioned in regard to bringing up, eg,
the Info dialog, but I'm wondering about what performance impact using
compressed (color) icons vs uncompressed icons would have in
displaying the initial launcher screen. I would imaging displaying a
full screen of compressed icons will take longer than a full screen of
uncompressed icons, but the difference is probably minimal. Has
anyone tested this? Just curious...
