Please don't hit Mr. Horn. He's a nice guy as well as a brilliant computer
scientist.
Anyway, *what* other computers are you talking about? Most Big Iron databases
are multi-dimensional. Windows sometimes hides important file information in
the registry where you can't even find it. And all Palm "files" are multifork
(appinfo data, plus records or resources) instead of flat.
Of course, Palm databases can be flattened into pdb or prc files, but the same
is true of Mac files using the binhex or appledouble format.
I either use a DOS formatted floppy or the DropRSR utility to move resource
files back and forth between MacOS, Win98 and linux. My biggest problem hasn't
been with file forks, but file name mangling by Windows. ( What clown invented
8.3 file name restrictions?! :)
