For some time I've been using the various NetLibIFSettingSet() calls to
setup the values I need to establish before calling NetLibOpen() to open up
a modem based connection to a server. This all works fine on a device
running PalmOS 3.1
However, I've now started testing on a PalmOS 3.3 device, and am getting
very different results. The main problem is that the 3.3 device seems to
ignore any settings I set and just use whatever the currently selected
Service Settings are according to the Network section in Preferences.
I've added code to check that the settings which I think I'm setting are
being set. Bascially something like:
Set all settings.
Get all settings and check they match.
Call NetLibOpen().
When doing this, all the settings seem to be right. However, when I do the
NetLibOpen(), instead of getting 'Connecting to MyService' I get 'Connecting
to AmiNet' (or whatever service is selected in the net prefs) - then very
quickly I get the 'bad phone number' error as I haven't set a phone number
for AmiNet (or any of the other defaults).
So, does anyone know why this could be hapenning? I assume that there's
been some change between 3.1 and 3.3 which I don't know about. I've had a
look in the obvious place, but to no avail. I'd be very grateul if anyone
could shed any light on this.
Cheers
