This is only partially true. The Date Book data is in a separate 
database, not inside the Date Book application itself. There are 
already several third-party apps on the market that read and write the 
Date Book database.

The SDK that you download from the Palm Devzone contains the Date Book 
source code. You can modify it to do what you want. You can also take 
just the part that reads and writes the database, and add it to your 
own app.
