You might also consider using a global, or a feature, or something to keep
track of what form the list belongs to.

It was an undocumented side-effect/feature/bug, that FrmGetActiveForm()
returned something semi-reasonable (which happened to be what you wanted)
even there wasn't an active form.

Not really, because it wasn't guaranteed in the first place.  But it
probably merits a mention/warning in the documentation, but then we're
assuming people read the docs :-)  I'll send the docs folks mail.
