I have coded a scrolling field example by using the example on page 122-124 in the Palm Programming book. It works pretty well but there are a couple of quirks. 1) I have a two line (visible) field. When I get to the last character of the 2nd line and enter 1 more character, the scrollbar pops up but the field does NOT show the next line. The character is actually there; a line has been added and the fldUpdateEvent is generated, but the field was not updated to show the insertion point and new character. ONLY, after entering one additional character, does the field scroll down to display the next line. Why does it take two characters before I can see the next line? How do I fix this? 2) I cannot select the text unless the last line in the field is displayed. Why does this work this way? How do you fix it? I have tried two examples of this and both have this behavior. Is this a known behavior of this example? What's up?
