GNU vs CodeWarrior

Hi,

I want to compare compilers efficiency for both GNU and CodeWarrior environment.
I did a simple program that uses complex operations and I compiled it with -o3 option 
for gcc and I specify CodeWarrior I want speed
to be optimized.
I'm a bit amazed to see that gcc generates a program which is almost twice quicker. Is 
it normal to get such results ?
