David,
thanks for the detailed information. I was not sure what "memory manager
data structures" actually are (thought it referred to something in
MemoryPrv.h). Now I know.

When you look at the latest POSE sources, there are several hundred lines in
MetaMemory.cpp dealing with bugs in existing OS versions and suppress these
warnings. Not all of these tests have been there in earlier POSE versions
and obviously, other cases may still not be handled.
I once spent a long time trying to find a "memory manager data structures"
bug in a very short program with CtlSetLabel(cp,"fixed string") and
(eventually) no dynamic memory allocation at all.
As I said, I could not reproduce any of theses cases with POSE 3.0a6 so lets
leave it at that and hope the problem has vanished. Thanks, Keith.

One problem I see is that POSE "debugs" both the OS and the application at
the same time and sometimes it's hard to draw the line who's fault it is.
I usually do not debug Windows applications on a debug version of Windows
NT. I do use the debug version of MFC, but I also have the MFC sources to
step in.

Any chance for publishing (under NDA) up-to-date and complete PalmOS sources
in the near future?

Yes I believe you do your best to fix bugs, but there's a big problem here.
You fix bugs in new ROM releases, but you do not post updates to published
ROMs anymore (although the architecture supports it and Palm/USR used to do
so with PalmOS 1.0 and 2.0).
We as application developers have to deal with all existings ROMs, and the
bugs in them. My guess is that there are still several million pre-3.3
devices out there. (Palm: any hard figures?)

Best regards,
Andreas
