Symbol market the SPT 1740, which is an industrial-strength unit with
Palm OS, a laser scanner, and a 802.11 compatible local radio (TCP/IP).

They also market the other components to run a radio local network,
such as base stations, PC cards, etc. (www.symbol.com)

Their primary customers are corporate, so you can't buy this stuff from
a computer store. (Go figure!)

If you are interested in this route and can't find a source, e-mail me with
where you are located and I'll refer you to one of their resellers that we've
worked with in your area (we don't market hardware).
