Actually here is a little nifty trick to generate lots of .r files:
Disassemble the .rsrc files that come with the SDK examples to get .r files.

To do this:
a) Add a file mapping to your project. File Type: RSRC, File Extension:
.rsrc, Compiler: Rez - leave the other flags untouched. Hit the Add button.
b) Download PalmType.r from www.palmos.com/dev/tech/tools (bottom of the
page) and copy the file to the same location as your .mcp file.
c) In the Rez panel, specify PalmType.r as the Prefix File. Save the
changes.

Now, when you have a .rsrc file in your project and right click on it you
have Disassemble as an option. This will generate a .r file.
