Ken tells me he is using the 3.1 SDK. Using selectorised API functions like
the host control ones with this SDK was supposed to produce a compile-time
error, but, alas, Ken's falling into this bug of mine:

The answer is that to successfully compile selectorised functions with GCC
you have to be using the 3.5 SDK.
