Just do a soft reset. Press the reset button on the back of the device
WITHOUT holding down any buttons. You probably did a no-notify reset (by
holding down the up-arrow button while pressing the reset button). This
prevents the IR library from being loaded. It also prevents all the
applications from being notified of the reset.
If a normal reset crashes, one of your apps has a bug. In this case, do a
no-notify reset, delete a suspect app, and do another normal reset. Repeat
as necessary. Then reinstall any deleted apps that aren't buggy and reset
again to make sure they weren't the problem.
