The most elegant way to do this would be for you to write your own custom list window
control with a text drawing area and a scroll
bar. You could intercept the event for tapping the popup control and this would show
instead of the regular list.
I have come across clients and users who have demanded this feature since this is what
they are used to seeing in PCs. However, the
one fact that I have found is that once a user gets experienced and used to using the
hardware up/down buttons on the device, they
stop trying to scroll the screen since more data is shown faster.
