I've succeded to connect my Palm III via Nokia 7110 IR port to internet. You need to install IR enhancement from Palm and even better (I did that) to upgrade your device to Palm OS 3.3. Download it from Palm site. There are instructions how to configure settings in Network preferences. Then, you have to make sure that you have DATA TRANSFER enabled by your GSM provider. After that just target modem on the other side as if you call it by 'normal' PC modem. I've tested connection to my Linux box and it worked... > 4.
