HotSync User Name string

Is there any documented (API like) way to get HotSync User Name string
from my application?

Or the only way is to open Unsaved Sys Prefs DB (creator:'psys'
type:'pref'), lock pointer to resource "psys 4" (ID: 4 type:'psys') and
get string on offset 42 from locked pointer?
