Hi-res devices (most OS 5 devices) also include half-size fonts. Tthese are, technically, low density components of font packages that include both low density and high density components; the low density ones are included for compatibility with earlier systems. For instance, a half-size largeFont looks smaller than a stdFont, and so on. To use the half-size fonts, draw the font to a low density (72 dpi) off-screen bitmap, then change the bitmap resolution back to high density (144 dpi) and write the bitmap onto the screen.
Sony devices additionally include extra small fonts, and most recent Palm devices include a whole bunch of versamail fonts.
