Morning all. Wonder if anyone might have some advice. I'm maintaining an application that runs on PalmOS 4.1, testing on a Sony Peg SJ-20 (as well as the emulator). Development with Code Warrior 9.3.
I've been making a bunch of changes to the program, testing on the emulator all the while. I want to run some tests on the device. I uninstall my old copy on the device and run the hotsync. I then try to install the new copy. When I do, I get a Fatal Exception alert on the device - and when I hit "reset", it goes into a loop: reset, Fatal Exception, reset, etc... Hard reset also ends up with a Fatal Exception. The only way out is a hard reset, while holding down the "up" key. Everything looks fine on the desktop. As far as the hotsync manager is concerned, everything went smoothly - no errors or interesting messages appear in the log. The last notification message I see on the device before the crash is "Cleaning up - please wait". Oddly, once I've gotten out of the fatal exception-loop, the program is installed and runs properly, as does the program's conduit - I can use the program, and the data does get synchronized with the desktop. I don't have any trouble running the program on the emulator. I can't figure out why I'm getting a fatal exception while installing the program - I don't see what I could be doing that could be causing trouble. Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions?
