Sometimes, rather than getting rid of the button when it isn't appropriate, it's
better to leave it there, and make tapping on it bring up an alert explaining what you
need to do before you can use the button. This is what many of the PIM applications
do. Try the Details button in the day view of Datebook, for example. You probably
don't want user actions within a form to change the buttons that appear at the bottom.
