can't clear breakpoints when using emulator

Every time I attempt to clear a breakpoint while the emulator is running, I
get an unhandled exception in IDE.EXE.

Looking through the newsgroup archives, I see that others have encountered
this problem, but I can't find a resolution in the newsgroups or the
knowledge base. Does anyone know how to fix this? It really slows down the
debugging process.
