I'm new to Palm world (from the Windows Mobile world); and I've been trying to find some answers (with no luck after hours of searching). I'm hoping some of you can either help me out (or validate that what I'm trying to do is not possible): My target devices are Palm Treos (650+, Garnet). I'm willing to work in any language/compiler I need to (although prefer C++/68k) Anyways, my questions are: 1. Does/can an application run in the background: eg. if the user launches my app, then switches to the web-browser, will my app still be running? 2. Can I create background/worker threads? 3. If not #2, can does inter-process communication exist. Can my main app, launch another app with no UI element to create multi-processing? And then have the two apps communicate with each other (either directly thru process2process communication or indirectly by writing data to disk)?
