I highly suggested reading 2 books (for c++): Accelerated C++ by Andrew Koenig (isbn 020170353X) Effective C++ by Scott Meyers (isbn 0321334876) (Read Accelerated before Effective) Both are very very good books that are short and will teach you the advanced c++ language features and should save you development time once you start applying the concepts...
