Palm as company doesn't support developers well, devices are terrible, especially Treo which is the dumbest mobile phone i ever saw. I think that if they will continue their current direction in year or 2 i will have no interest about their devices at all. Foleo was for me something like fresh air (yes, when it was announced i was extremely dissapointed, but later when i thought about it i was sure i will want it and do something for it) - and project was cancelled.
so at the moment i still work on palm programs because at the moment is something i know the best and there is still demand for programmers... but personally i am getting more and more interested to SymbianOS (because 90% of people around me have mobile with this system so it seems to be most alive to me) and Android (because i wanted to learn java anyway and this sdk and developer support seem to be good to me...so i have 2 in one, java and new platform). in future i will maybe also do some pocketpc because of my regular job but as i never liked micro$oft much i don't count it as something what is in my interest. so developing for palm will definitely continue - but it will not be 100% of my programming time as it was until now and quite in contradiction to what i wrote - i love palmos, i love its api and i am very sorry i got to this situation. but i hate devices which lack functionality which was available on other phones 10 years ago, which can't last 5 hours on battery, which have tons of libraries which are not documented or if yes then don't work as expected.... and all this costs 2x much as for example pocket pc with integrated gps and camera. isn't it really time to move on? -- For information on using the ACCESS Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.access-company.com/developers/forums/
