I've remained quiet in this discussion for obvious reasons, but if you're looking for VB-like programming environment, NS Basic/Palm is a good candidate. It's got a good price ($99.95), small runtime (<90k) and we're fanatical about supporting it. It's been out long enough so that it's relatively stable.
