Obviously I did not understand your question.  When you (re)draw 
your list, do you make sure nothing is highlighted?  If not, you 
should try explicitly setting the selection to nothing until the 
user selects something. (LstSetSelection(listP, -1);)  That 
should make sure nothing is highlighted.
