"Palm OS Programming from the Ground Up" (Robert Mykland, 2000) states the following (p. 110):
"Unfortunately, as of the latest revision of Palm OS, there are two major restrictions to editing in place. First of all, you can only attach one field to a given record at any given time. If you attach more than one field to a single record [using FldSetText()], it seems to work for a while, but eventually your application will lock up. Secondly, any portions of your record that come after a field that you edit in place will be zeroed out occasionally."
