  try to launch c:\Program Files\Metrowerks\CodeWarrior\Bin\regservers.bat
  and maybe also set path to this bin folder. it should start to work then.

  you need new sdk only if you want to use new features they provide. if you
just want to compile some existing project you may use sdk you are used to
