Sounds like there's something wrong with your event loop. Unless you're doing
some type of timer, an animation, or some other special case, the timeout for
EvtGetEvent() should be evtWaitForever. This will make your app wait "forever"
for a "real" event. Using evtWaitForever, you should never get a nilEvent,
AFAIK.
If you have the timeout set to anything else, you will get a nilEvent after the
specified number of ticks. In a normal UI and event driven application, you
don't want that to happen.
Also, using any other value than evtWaitForever, will drain the unit's battery
faster then it should.
