A conduit is the program you create (a DLL on Windows) to control how your
applications data is synchronized between your PC and your handheld. If
your app doesn't have a conduit, the HotSync Manager uses a default conduit
to backup your data to the PC. If you want to do something more complex
(e.g., allow data entry on the PC) then you need to write a conduit. See
