As long as you can live without CTS/RTS, the other issues can be (and are,
see http://www.markspace.com/datacord.html) addressed. We have a circuit
that does the proper voltage, provides an "always on" DTR (for devices that
won't turn on w/o DTR, such as some GPS), and draws power from the visor
side (for devices that themselves can't even afford the meager power
requirements of the circuit, such as some cell phones). Now if we could get
CTS/RTS in a future device, that would be great, but for the moment you can
"make do" with the Visor USB/Serial design.
