Actually this is exactly the way to check - based on the returned handle
point type. I remember reading it somewhere in the older docs - I remember
it was in Ref3.PDF, which discussed the memory manager.

just a thought,...By using MeLocalIDKind(dbID) u can get the info about
the database whrere it resides and can judge whether its a
readonly/Readwrite. If it returns a pointer its in ROM and if it returns
Handle its in RAM. Does all this make sense? Let me know any other way if u
found..
