Sony does, to its credit, have beta SDK's out for both the memory stick
and jog dial. The documentation is sparce, but it's ample for learning
how these two new features work. Seriously, though, Sony's Palm is going
to compete directly with the WinCE/PPC crowd. Sony produces a ton of
devices that utilize the memory stick, and it's already being marketed
as an "Entertainment" PDA. From what I've read of the Jog dial, it's
a really nice enhancement, too...but we'll all have to wait until late
September or October for any kind of serious support.

The emulator, however, is really very basic, so Mac guys aren't missing
out on much (you could probably test your apps on an emulated Palm IIIx ROM
and have the same effect). Once Sony produces a ROM that makes use of the
new functions, and gives the necessary information to Keith & Co., then
we'll see a much better emulation system.
