Can't do it. The serial number is the ID of the flashed rom file (OS,
PIMs, etc.) on the Palm. Try getting the user name, that can be
obtained from a Visual Basic application running on your desktop.
The flash ID of a Palm is not a 100% guaranteeable thing, too...some
Palms (Visors, m100, etc.) use masked ROM, so you're not going to be
able to get that number on those. The serial number written on the back
of the Palm isn't generally in the Palm's memory...you get that by looking
at the back of the Palm. Getting the serial number, either from the
Palm or from the desktop, is perhaps one of the most asked questions
I've seen, so if Adam is listening...and this hasn't been added to the
FAQ yet...I know it's in the KB, too...but I don't know if it's been
applied to this kind of situation. (Getting it from the desktop through
one of the many programming tools)
