The POSE prgram that may(I think) come with CW Lite
emulates the hotsync function by virtually taking
the serial port. In my experience it lasts across
an uninstalls. If you have CW lite uninstalled and
then just mess around with serial port settings in the
Win control panel you may inadvertently force the
hardware settings to reset. There are also serial
port settings in Palm Desktop which you can play with.

Subject: Help with Codewarrior Lite

Yesterday I installed CWL on my PC and now I cannot get
my Palm to HotSync. I keep getting a message saying
'Unable to initiate HotSync because the serial port is
in use by another application. I remember when I
install CWL it said something about using the same port
as HotSync. I tried Uninstalling CWL and that didn't
work. Next I uninstalled and reinstalled the Palm
Desktop software. When prompted to insert my Palm in
the cradle I did and it continued installation so I
assumed it could 'talk' to the Palm. But still no
HotSync.

Anybody have any ideas?
