Hi,
     Though I'm not sure why this is happening, I do have a suggestion 
which should work for you.

     Go to the App Launcher and run the "Welcome" app. Even with the 
digitizer badly out of calibration you should be able to get a tap 
onto the Welcome app's icon. The first thing it does of course is run 
the digitizer calibration and away you go!
