How do I do gray scale on OS3.5

Hi,

Im trying to use 4 bit greyscale but Im not having much luck.

Firstly am I correct in thinking that only 4 grey scales can be displayed at
once.

Secondly how do I use them, Im using WinPaintLine, and WinSetForeColour with
0 to F but all I get is black lines.

What am I doing wrong. I cant seem to find much usefull documentation.
