I've been doing a lot of development for CE recently, and the overall 
emphasis on the devices is for media playback. Coming from a 
Newton/Palm background, it was very strange to see this as the 
primary purpose of the device rather than as the address/datebook 
appliance I'm used to.

Funny thing about this--even thought a PocketPC device comes with the 
Microsoft Media player for playing MP3s, I have yet to be able to 
build a playlist of MP3s stored on an external storage card. Go 
figure...
