So, in other words, if the keyboard input outruns the debugger's ability
to keep up (not unusual given all the moving pieces between the debugger and
the executable) the debugger locks up and dies, right?
Have seen this a number of times myself, and have found the only cure is
to shut the IDE down and restart it.

Fima,
When you step through code using F10 and F11, you wil, quite regularly,
press the stepping button faster than the debugger is able to step through
the code. Either wait until the debugger has completed the step before
stepping again, or use the mouse buttons (which won't become available for
use until the debugger is ready for more input).
