Thanks, I already did that before posting.... none of the macros seem to
mentioned in any of the docs.
After building a new starter app this morning and comparing its settings to
those in my app, I found that the problem was that I had "ANSI strict" checked.
Understandably, the preprocessor didn't like the #error keyword with that
enabled.
