Or there's the approach of curing the problem instead of hiding the
symptoms: check to see if the form you're seeing that on is flagged as Modal
- this will try to draw a frame around it.  Clearing that should clear the
corners.

do that (WinEraseRectangle), but set the rectangle to very small (like 4 
pixels or something)
