haven't worked in networking side of Palm, but here is what i wanted to say
- ARP broadcasts Layer 2 broadcasts unlike UDP broadcasts. just because the
device is capable of sending ARP broadcasts doesn't mean it is capable of
sending UDP broadcasts.

Has anyone else here had problems with UDP broadcast packets not sending
properly on an SPT1740 (or any other Palm for that matter)? My net code
works just beautifully unless I try to send a broadcast packet, in which
case it returns with no error, but nothing ever hits the network.
I've tested it pretty thoroughly, and I'm certain that the packets are not
finding their way out. The broadcast address published by the interface
info struct and getsockopt() is 'correct' (255.255.255.255). And finally,
the setsockopt() option to allow sending of broadcasts is listed as 'not
implemented'.
I know the device is capable of sending broadcasts, because I've watched it
send ARP requests (which are, of course, broadcasts) all day long with no
problem.
Any ideas, help, etc. would be very appreciated!
