Greyscale

I have a 'rolling graph' that I'd like to put greyscale tic marks on.

As far as my understanding goes, greyscale isn't directly supported in the
Palm OS.  I'd like to be able to run my app without having to have ver 3.5.
Is there any sample code or documents that explain how to do this?  And will
WinScrollRectangle() scroll the greyscale pixels too?
