FWIW there is a sort of UID present in the Palm VII that is used - it is the
radio id of the transmitter and needs to be unique for the device to
communicate with the mobitex/palm.net service. So, a Palm VII has - a unique
ROM code, a unique radio id, and a user name 8^). I would assume that
OmniSky type services also have the unique transmitter number, but that it
would be tied to the modem rather than the Palm unit (can anyone clarify
that? I only have wireless experience programming the VII).
